Since October 26th to October 27th, the II Interregional Competition of Soloists and Jazz Music Ensembles for Children and Youth named after Yuri Bilyar was held at the Belgorod State University of Arts and Culture.
The event was organized by the Department of Musical Variety Art and Sound Engineering, together with the regional educational and methodical center for art education at the BSUAC. More than a hundred performers participated in the competition; they demonstrated their talents in one of five nominations: “instrumental solo”, “instrumental ensemble”, “vocal solo”, “vocal ensemble” and “jazz master”. The auditions and the award ceremony took place over two days in the main hall. The jury consisted of leading professors of the institute, as well as the famous German musician Hans-Peter Maria Salentin, artist of the Belgorod State Philharmonic Society Ekaterina Novikova, head of the music variety art department at the Voronezh Rostropovich Music College Andrei Dudchenko, winner of international competitions, professor of the Voronezh College of Music named after Rostropovich Karina Kozhevnikova.
As a part of the competition, the audience was presented the creative performance of “A few stories about love”, performed by the pop-jazz orchestra “Bilyar-Band” and the young ballet BSUAC.
